Weekly Announcements: Week Commencing 7 January 2024

  • Joint meeting of the Session and Board of Managers on Tuesday 9th January. This meeting will be via Zoom. The link will be sent close to the time of the meeting.

  • Presbytery meeting on Saturday 20th January at 10:00 AM at Samaritan church. Kirk folks can car pool.

  • Bible Study resumes this Thursday at 5:00 PM in the Felicity Julien Memorial Hall (downstairs the Kirk)

  • This Minister’s son, who is a Youth Minister in Delaware, USA, will be ordained on Sunday 28th January 2024. Consequently, Dr. James will be away from January 22nd to February 2nd.

  • The Conference of Churches in Grenada will be having a series of panel discussions in commemoration of our 50th anniversary of Independence. The first of these will be about the evolution of the socio-political/socio-economic landscape of Grenada since Independence. It will be held at the Kirk on Thursday 18th January at 5:30 PM. The panelists will be Gloria Payne-Banfield, Dave Nedd & Dr. Wendy Grenade. The moderator will be William Joseph. All are invited.

  • Thursday 21st December - Candlelight Service at 6:00 PM at The Kirk, followed by our Christmas Social downstairs The Kirk

  • We will have a Baptism on Sunday 24th December

  • Our Christmas Day Service will be at 6:00 AM on Monday 25th December

  • Bible study will resume in the new year

  • Members of our choir will be singing in the Anglican church’s Christmas concert on Thursday 14th December 2023. Tickets are $50 each - you can purchase from Jenny Isaacs.

  • Bible Study on the book of Romans on Thursday at 5:00 PM at The Kirk

  • Thursday 30th November - The anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of our church. It was done 192 years ago on 30 November 1831. This anniversary is usually celebrated on the Sunday closest to 30 November.

  • Sunday 3rd December - St. Andrew Day - Commemorative Service

    • 1st Sunday in Advent

    • Communion

    • Bring your family to church Sunday - please invite/bring along family members who may not be actively involved in a church of their own as well as Presbyterians who have been infrequent in attendance of worship and other church activities

  • Thursday 7th December - last Bible Study session for 2023

  • Thursday 21st December - Candlelight service and church social afterwards. Please note that we are moving the Candlelight service to the 21st because one of our Ecumenical partners is having an activity in which some of our choir members are participating. The fellowship afterwards will be our Christmas party. More information on this will be forthcoming.

  • Monday 25th December - Christmas Day service at 6 AM

  • Saturday 17th February 2024 - Annual congregation meeting

  • There will be a baptism on Sunday 26 November and another on Sunday 24 December (this child lives overseas)

(c) 14 July 1833: Church dedicated (190 years ago)

(ii) St. Andrew Day – Commemorative Service will be held on December 3rd
