This is a home-coming service. So, invite and encourage all persons previously connected to the Kirk to come out and join us for that service of celebration and thankfulness to our God for the sustainability of the witness of the Kirk for past 180 years and for the future. New members will also be received at that time. We hope to have pictures of the past activities of the Kirk which we have been gathering over the past weeks.
Come and join us for the ANNIVERSARY FUND-RAISING DINNER Saturday November 23rd at Alison Budhllal's home.
Members and adherents of the Kirk are encouraged to support this event. It will be a 'pot luck' dinner and everyone is asked to bring their 'famous, tantilizing' dish to make this a joyous occasion of celebration and fellowship. As this is a fundraising dinner members are asked to contribute no less than $30 each towards this dinner. In February, we are hoping to have another fund-raising event which will reach out to the community. Details will follow in January.
In 1830, a small group of Scottish residents decided to build a Kirk. A subscription list, headed by the Scottish governor, Major-General Sir James Campbell, raised the required sum, Application was made to government for a suitable site on which to build.
